You will see many posts regarding this on the internet and nothing seems to work so you may not be interested in reading through. But this post can really help to speed the net. You might have heard of bandwith.
It is the memory reserved for the system to use for other purposes. This data is fixed by windows as 20%. You can hopefully change this value to any other value you want. By decreasing it you get more speed and by increasing it we can get more system bandwith but the system speed will get reduced.
To change the value you should type "gpedit.msc" in the search box. If you are using windows xp then type this in run. Under the computer configuration option you should choose administrative templates. Now a list will appear. Choose the Network option from it. You will find an option called QOS Packet Sheduler, single click it and select the limit reservable bandwith option. Enable the limit option and fill the desired value in the box below. Now click Apply and Ok. Remember that the higher the value you set is the lower your internet speed will be so try to leave the value 0 because there is not much use with it.You are all done... and enjoy with better speed...
